BANGKOK, 7 Février 2012 (NNT) - Le Conseil des ministres a donné son feu vert pour que la Thaïlande puisse être l'hôte de l'Exposition Universelle de 2020 avec pour thème «Redéfinir la mondialisation: la vie équilibré, mode de vie durable».
Le gouvernement Thaïlandais a chargé le ministère des Affaires étrangères de la responsabilité d'apporter tout le soutien nécessaire à cet événement. Il est d'ores et déjà prévu prévu de créer un comité, avec pour Président le ministre des Affaires étrangères. Il sera chargé de superviser l'ensemble du processus et de la coordination avec les divers organismes.
Cette candidature de la Thaïlande pour accueillir le monde lors de l'Expo 2020 est devenue un Programme National par la décision du Gouvernement. Un des vice-premiers ministres sera choisi pour superviser et travailler en coordination avec toutes les agences concernées afin que la province d'Ayutthaya se rapproche de nombreuses villes à travers le monde.
Le 16 mai 2011, le gouvernement la candidature de la Thaïlande afin accueillir cet événement en 2020. Les autres prétendants sont la Turquie avec la ville d'Izmir Izmir, la Russie-Ekaterinbourg, le Brésil-Sao Paulo, et les Emirats Arabes Unis avec Dubaï.
Des élections auront lieux fin 2013 afin d’élire la ville qui aura la chance d'accueillir l'Exposition universelle de 2020. Thaïlande a maintenant moins de deux ans pour obtenir un maximum de soutien à sa candidature. Le rapport a en outre déclaré que la Thaïlande est tenue de soumettre des comptes rendus relatifs à sa volonté d'accueillir ce grand événement lors des Assemblées générales du BIE, et ce, deux fois en 2012 et une fois en 2013.

Cabinet approved Expo 2020 as a "National Agenda"
BANGKOK, 7 February 2012 (NNT)-The Cabinet has given a green light for Thailand to be dominated as the host of World Expo 2020 under the concept of ‘Redefine Globalisation : Balanced Life, Sustainable Living’.
The Cabinet has reportedly tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the responsibility of mustering support for the event. It is expected to establish a committee, with a Foreign Minister as chairman, to oversee the entire process and coordinate with related agencies.
The nomination of Thailand to host World Expo 2020 has become a national agenda by the decision of the Cabinet. One of the Deputy Prime Ministers will be chosen to supervise and work in coordination with all related agencies to prepare Ayutthaya province to contend with many cities around the world.
The government on May 16 last year submitted Thailand as a candidate to host this event. Other contenders include Turkey which nominated Ismir, Russia- Yekaterinburg, Brazil- South Paolo, and Arab Emirates-Dubai.
It will be voted late next year who will win the honor to host World Expo 2020. Thailand will have approximately two years to drum up supports for its nomination. The report further stated that Thailand is required to submit progress reports related to its readiness to host this great event to the BIE meeting--- twice this year and once again next year.
